This kit is injection molded, contains 44 parts in 2 sprues and 1 clear part, also includes decal sheet for 2 variants (Tu-160 of Russian Air Force named “Ilya Murometz” and “Pavel Taran”).

Tu-160 is now the most modern and powerful strategic bomber of Russian Air Force. It was constructed by Tupolew design bureau in late 70s as an answer to USA B-1 programme. The prototype named “70-01” made his maiden flight 18.12.1981. The first serial Tu-160 began service in 184th TBAP (Heavy Bomber Regiment), based in Pryluki (Ukraine), in 1987. To the end of 1991 it were delivered 21 Tu-160, called “Blackjack” by NATO.

After the destruction of USSR 5 new built Tu-160 were delivered to 1096th TBAP in Engels (Russia). In the end of 90s all Tu-160 from Ukraine were transferred to Engels, and now Russia is the only owner of Tu-160 bombers.

Tu-160 is to the present time the biggest combat aircraft in the world. It’s maximum flight weight is about 275 tons. It has wing with changed geometry. In supersonic regime it’s speed attained 2000 km/h. The main armament of Tu-160 include 12 X-55 missiles.
