The details on this Denver Fire Department American LaFrance are truly amazing. Check out the Warner Shutoff (locally called the Sampson). Invented by Fred Warner, master DFD mechanic in the 30’s, this device enables one man to shut down a fully charged hose, a necessary action while setting up and charging lines to fight a fire. Other accoutrements on this piece are a Cooper Hose Jacket used to plug hose leaks and a Bresnan Cellar Nozzle better known as a Whirligig and perfect for basement fires.
