| Academy add the European Theater to its P-38J Lightning series. Fully engraved panel lines complement the highly detailed cockpit & landing gear compartment of the P-38J. Authentic markings are used in the included two decal combination:
The first being USAAF P-38J-10-LO s/n 42-67916 "California Cutie" flown by Lt Richard O. Loehnert, of the 55th Fighter Squadron, 20th Fighter Group, June 1944… The upper side is painted in OD, lower side is neutral gray. D-day invasion stripes complete this version.
The Second decal set copies USAAF P-38J-20-LO s/n 44-23511 "Arkansans Traveler" flown by Lt. Owen Fincher, of the 392nd Fighter Squadron, 367th Fighter Group, in 1945. The total main body is painted silver color with comic nose art painted forward of the cockpit. This P-38J Lightning will surely enhance any 1/72 scale collection. |
